"...really smart lyrics and strong arrangements"
-Rob Azevedo, Concord Monitor
Of all the records I’ve ever waited for, I think this is the one I eagerly anticipated the most. Mr. Davis placed a live EP into my hands what feels like an eternity ago, which was a fun document, but not where I figured the songwriter could take his music if properly recorded. Well, he did it. And it’s a powerful musical statement while being as loose, playful, and fun as is to be expected from a band called the Whiskey Stones. Start at the end with “My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend,” and work your way to the front. It’ll cure what ails ya. Seacoastonline.com

The music of Jake Davis is tough to categorize. It’s folk, jazz, rock and roll, and bluegrass and everything in between. Out in the Weeds features Jake’s soft yet weathered vocals, backed perfectly by a band that can seemingly play any genre. Folknh.com
